Monica Torti Guitarist
Biography
Monica Torti is a Swiss guitarist known for her expressive playing and distinctive approach to classical guitar, which she enriches by integrating live looping into her performances.
After exploring various instruments, she began studying classical guitar in 2015 and, three years later, obtained her Certificate from the Conservatory of Lausanne with the Honnors of the Jury, in the class of Renaud Renquin. She continued her studies at the University of Music Lausanne (HEMU) with George Vassilev, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 2022 along with the special Auditech Prize. In 2024, she completed a Master of Arts in Instrumental Pedagogy and received the prestigious Fritz Bach Prize. She is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague in the Netherlands, studying with Pavel Steidl and Enno Voorhorst.
In parallel, she participates in numerous masterclasses with internationally renowned guitarists such as Judicaël Perroy, Zoran Dukic, Aniello Desiderio, Thibaut Garcia, Tali Roth, and others.
Laureate of numerous national and international competitions, Monica Torti has performed as a soloist in Switzerland and internationally (France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Lithuania, Netherlands, and others). She has been invited to renowned festivals such as the Rencontres Guitares de Bulle, the Festival International 6 Cordes au Fil de l’Allier, and the Festival Internacional de Guitarras de Haría.
She has also appeared as a soloist with orchestra and in various chamber music formations (Duo Akisson, Quatuor Bazzini, cello–guitar duo), sharing the stage with artists such as Thibault Cauvin, Laurent Boutros, and Johan Smith.
Always seeking new musical experiences, Monica Torti integrates a looper pedal into her recitals. Her project Identity, classical guitar and looper pedal blends interpretations, compositions, and arrangements from diverse styles, pushing the boundaries of the traditional repertoire.
